There are actually several "cult-like" groups here, in the Philippines, that have sucked people in, who are searching to fill a void. The vision I am talking about is not that kind of vision. Years ago a Filipino, named Felix Manalo, much like Joseph Smith (Mormons), Charles Russell (Jehovah's Witnesses), began a "religion" after seeing a vision that he was the new Heaven sent prophet.
Our vision is much different and quite the opposite. Our vision depends on the "one and only" Jesus Christ and the salvation ONLY HE offers us ALL. We recently had a "braintrust" group from our church in Clear Lake visit the W.O.W. mission. They came to see what our mission looks like and how they can help organize my chaos. I have always wanted to be "everything to everyone" and needed someone(s) to tell me it is not possible. Only Jesus Christ fills that void in our lives. The team came to develop a "vision" of what this ministry will/can look like with some guidance and organization. My wife and I love serving and unlike me, she is very good at what she does (VBS). I am constantly chasing my tail trying to do everything without a "clear vision". The visits from our UBC team and Children's pastor have opened my eyes to a newer and clearer vision of what life should be like as a missionary. The first 25 days of October of 2017 produced 14 incredible people that came 8,000 miles to encourage us and help us to a clearer vision of spreading Jesus' love through teaching teachers in addition to our current VBS and feeding programs. Our team produced some of the smartest people in the world, with PHD's and MBA's, but most importantly - a mutual love for spreading the Salvation of Christ to all of God's children and growing His kingdom.
