This is my commandment: love each other just as I have loved you." John 15:12

Worship On Wheels was a mission born out of circumstances unlike most stories you may have heard. It did not begin with a clear “calling” from the Lord or a “bright light” shining in the night sky. Instead, it began with a family tragedy and numerous physical and emotional struggles that God eventually brought us through.

First of all, we are the Beaver family: myself, Troy; my wife, Thai; and our children, Katie, Elijah, and Zoe. We have been, and continue to be, members of University Baptist Church (UBC) in the Clear Lake community of Houston, Texas.

I was a proud member of the Houston Fire Department (HFD) and worked at our neighborhood fire station, HFD Station 71. Thai worked in the Weekday Program at UBC.

The Beavers lived a very normal life centered around family, church, and work, although the order of those priorities often shifted.

Our church family was an extension of our own family. My fellow Houston firefighters were also my extended family, as we spent 30% of our lives together at the fire station, sharing quiet moments and facing some of the most chaotic circumstances a person can experience. That, in itself, is a whole different story—or perhaps a collection of many stories, with all kinds of characters and both heroic and tragic endings.

Every picture you see on this website has its own incredible, Christ-centered story. Our family has been incredibly blessed to share the love of Jesus with everyone you see on these pages. We cannot possibly put every story into writing, but this is a humble summary of what has happened in our family as we have shared His story.
